Bill McLeod

Co-Founder / President

Bill and his family have been a part of the North San Diego County community since 1990. His affinity to food insecure children is very personal. Being one of six kids growing up in a single parent home the late 50's, Bill has experienced first hand, not only the physical effects of food insecurity, but also the mental and emotional toll hunger takes on children academically and socially. In addition to feeding kids on weekends, Bill owns an environmental testing company he founded in 2009. Since 1985 he has played a key pastoral roll in planting non-denominational churches from Miami to San Diego. Now, in his mid 60's, when most people are slowing down and thinking about retirement, Bill sees Got Your Back as an opportunity to give back to the community that has been so good to him.

Sue McLeod

Co-Founder / Director

In addition operating her own personal business as an independent health and beauty consultant, Sue loves children and has a strong passion for community outreach projects. Her deepest compassion is helping those who can't always help themselves, so it was only natural for her to focus her philanthropy effort on local children in San Diego schools who are food insecure. Sue and husband Bill began personally sponsoring 22 children in Olive elementary school in 2011 and called the project Got Your Back San Diego. As word got out and interest in the cause grew, others came along side the McLeods and joined the good fight against childhood hunger.
